Tag Care

It is important to properly care for your tag to keep it in great condition for as long as possible. Here are some tips and tricks to help!

The tags are durable in everyday wear but are not chew proof so please allow some time and patience until your dog has gotten used to their new tag. Do not leave unsupervised to avoid chewing.

To clean your tag, use some water and rub any debris off using your finger or a small brush. Mild soap can also be used. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or rough, sharp materials.

Avoid using your tag with any other metal tag or accessories as these can cause scratches.

When attaching your tag to the collar, make sure the Spring Ring is fully closed and secure to prevent it falling off and getting lost. If you notice the ring doesn’t close easily you may need a larger size. 20mm and 25mm Rings are both available when ordering. 25mm Rings are best for harnesses and collars with thicker D Rings. If your tag hangs too low it may be best using a smaller ring. Your dog shouldn’t be able to easily chew or scratch the tag.

Do not attach your lead to the tag’s ring. Only attach the lead to the harness or D ring of the collar.

It is important to keep your tags contact info up to date. Your tag should generally include your surname, house number, postcode and phone number. This information is vital for ensuring your pup can be safely reunited with you if they are ever lost.

If your dog collar has a fabric loop (as pictured below) try attaching your tag onto the loop instead to make it quieter and rattle less.
